Check out what the 5th Graders are doing!
Each 5th grade classroom came up
with a list of Mean/Bully Behavior. We
reviewed the definition of Bullying "A pattern
of repeated behavior meant to hurt
someone physically, emotionally, or
socially and usually has a imbalance of
power (physical or social)."

Fifth grade students participated in an
activity called "Step Up". They stood in a
line, shoulder to shoulder. When Mrs. Ford
gave a statement, they would step forward if
it was true for them. Some of the statements
included:
* I feel like I belong in this classroom.
* I have been left out by someone in this classroom.
There were ten statements in all. Students were then
asked to choose a feeling word from the cards on the
floor (see picture) that represented how they felt
about the activity. WOW! All students really opened
up to each other and were able to voice how they were
going to use the information they learned from each other
to up the level of caring in their classrooms!!
